Physical therapy is now available at EACC with Claws and Paws Animal Rehab. We are collaborating with Dr. Jan Steele in order to provide on-site physical therapy for our patients.
Dr. Steele got her start on the human side of things and practiced for 12 years. During this time she realized how how the techniques and treatments she employed on her human patients would also benefit the pet population. Dr. Steele earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Sports Medicine and Master’s in Physical Therapy at the University of Florida. Since then, she has had extensive training on the animal side.
Dr. Steele became a Certified Canine Rehabilitation Therapist and completed other types of educational opportunities for many types of companion animals, including becoming skilled in treating musculoskeletal problems in rabbits and other small mammals. We have seen success in our patients who suffer from arthritis, hind limb weakness and spinal conditions.
Once her education was complete, she followed her heart and now has a practice devoted entirely to companion animals. Dr. Steele and her healing hands are available at EACC on Tuesday mornings and all day Friday by appointment.
